Maclean's reads blogs
Our regular readers might be starting to sense that we get a kick out of this stuff. Here is the Google ad text that Rogers Media is running right now on any blog that mentions “Conrad Black”:
The U.S. vs. Conrad Black
The Maclean’s guide to the white-collar trial of the century.
www.macleans.ca
Two things come to mind. First it was the Toronto Star advertising on Drudge; and now Maclean’s and Canadian Business. Interesting that the marketing department didn’t see the irony that the journal currently being edited by one of Black’s highest profile remaining friends, is using the pain and suffering of Black to build subscriptions. It’s one thing to run the news about the trial, and hire Black’s wife as a columnist. But this may just fall in the “business is business” category, and even Black would have to respect that (no discussion of journalistic ethics, please).
What’s worse, our friends at Maclean’s are ignoring the fact that we copyrighted the catchline on March 14th:
“Today marks the opening of the Trial of the Century© in Chicago. Supporters of the accused can be found hanging around….”
C’mon, Kenny. That TT stuff was bad enough. But now this?
MRM
But notice how they didn’t capitalize trial of the century… perhaps a footnote is inorder.
