Is Bridgewater the next IPO?

If you are one of the investment bankers chasing a shot at the Ottawa-based Bridgewater Systems initial public offering mandate, I wish you luck. With Dragonwave (DWI:TSX) touching an all-time high last week, it will certainly be hard for the backers at Bridgewater to ignore the best TSX Tech IPO window this century (see prior posts “Tech IPO Window Opens“, January 29-07, and “Tech IPO momentum building“, April 10-07 and “The best domestic tech IPO momentum of this century” May 18-07).

With so many of these names trading up nicely after the floatation, it appears that they buyside has been rewarded for sticking their toe in the water. Who needs the goofy AIM market any longer?

The people are Bridgewater are super folks, and if the IPO rumour is true, we wish them every success. And an early congrats as well to backers Terry Matthews and David Ferguson at VenGrowth Capital Partners.
