If you're an Analyst, we're hiring
A few days ago it became officially official: we were swamped with great opportunities. Although our team is designed to be able to close multiple deals simultaneously, we are well past that point now. And we have an existing portfolio to manage. Since quality control is the name of the game in all of venture-land, this presents a problem.
It’s not like we can put up a sign on the door saying “come back in 15 days”.
Is this a positive indication about the economy? Most likely. But, as much as quality deal flow is a luxury that takes years to build, it hurts too.
As three different groups will attest just today, we try our best to squeeze people into an already crammed existence. But that isn’t a long term strategy.
So, in the hopes that this blog is read by numerate, trustworthy people in the early stage of their career who enjoy working…we are looking to hire an Analyst.
Job description: if you have to ask, you aren’t right for the role.
Education: Some type of math, engineering, business or similar undergrad degree.
Skills: you know, Analyst skills.
Personality: team player, an individual who takes pride in their work, enjoys meeting new people.
Previous work experience: at least 12 months in a Analyst role where Excel and analyzing businesses was the daily fare.
Career goals: we’re open-minded.
If you are such a person, and we only have budget to hire one, email your resume to aolah@wellingtonfund.com.

Sounds like an amazing opportunity – conservative venture-debt while larger cap players are in a retrenchment stage – although the timing looks like it might not necessarily work out for me.
FYI, there’s a typo in the @wellingtonfund Twitter bio
There a lot of great people here at ivey looking to get their start in the VC biz – I’ll pass this along.
Let me know when you’re hiring next year 😉
