Venture Capital gets on PM's agenda
I have great news for everyone in the Innovation Economy ecosystem.
Tomorrow afternoon, a five person delegation from the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association will be meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper to talk venture capital, commercialization and the CVCA’s Five Point Plan (see prior representative post “CVCA letters to Messers Flaherty, Clement and Ignatief” Dec 26-08) to help the start-up and VC world get rolling again.
After two solid years of GR work in Ottawa, it is wonderful that we’ve made the case that the topic deserves the attention of our national leader. I’m not sure whether or not the session will be “bloggable” (I doubt it), but everyone should know that the highest levels of the federal government appear to be keenly interested in what can be done to leverage Canada’s huge financial commitment to Science & Technology.

Congrats. Good luck.
