Thumbs up for Brian Colangelo

The news that two of the top four NBA rookie-of-the-year spots are actually playing for the Toronto Raptors probably won’t come as a surprise to GM Brian Colangelo, but the rest of us have been delighted by their success. Now, the Raptors have always done well with draft (or near draft) picks: Damon Stoudamire, Tracy McGrady, the Mama’s boy that used to wear #15, etc. But to reach into the European program with such deftness deserves some applause.

Perhaps the MLSE Board can reward him with an early promotion to President? As long as he sticks to the hardwood and not the ice. We basketball fans aren’t ready to share him with the Leafers just yet.
