CEOs 1 – Media 0
Could it be true that Globe and Mail columnist Eric Reguly is trading his fabulous space in the ROB section for the putative excitement of a European Correspondent? As one of the few business journalists with great real estate and an ability to get his telephone calls returned, this is certainly a major shift for the Globe.
One can only imagine how Reguly will adapt to, say, the Spanish 3 hour lunch culture. Trust he’ll tolerate it with the same adroitness that he tolerated local CEOs!
Will the Globe chiefs recognize that they can’t do without regular columns from both Reguly and Andy Willis? Is it time to beg Willis to return to the devilish world of an opinion-shaping columnist, rather than make the foolhardy move of replacing Reguly with – perhaps – a tainted single-source libeller from the newpaper across town?
Bon voyage, Eric.
