“Cormark, Calgary, has hired energy analyst Todd Kepler from GMP Securities to replace Ryan Shay who is moving to Cormark’s energy investment banking team. Cormark also hired trader Sean McCowan from TD Securities.
Alex MacDonald has joined Manulife as EVP, Canadian Investments and Global Investment Strategy, reporting to the CIO, Don Guloien. He replaces a retiring Peter Stuart. Alex was previously responsible for Canada Life’s Canadian and surplus investments and was President of Laketon Investment Management.
Cesar Frota has moved to CIT Financial’s Energy and Infrastructure group as a senior associate from PWC’s infrastructure group.
OTPP’s Canadian Private Capital team has hired former TD Securities M&A Associate Gregg Neilson. TD Securities also lost Michael Woolhouse, Vice President and Director, Financial Institutions Group, to CPPIB in the Funds and Secondaries investment arm.
Evergreen Capital has hired Husein Kirefu as an Analyst in Institutional Research and Sales covering a group of growth oriented technology and special situations companies across Canada. Husein came from Octagon Capital and has also worked a stint at Scotia Capital and Orion Securities.
Scotia Capital, Vancouver, has hired analyst Matthew Hendriks away from BMO Capital Markets.”
