Can Roots ride Lulu's coattails?

It wasn’t that long ago when the Roots founders were sitting on top of the world. They had almost everyone wearing their clothing, from the Royal Princes (“Poor Boy” hats) to the U.S. Olympic team (uniforms) to the social set (with the wonderfully names “Sloan” handbag.

They still cut a swath at the Raptors game, for example. But what about the riches that had been expected for CIBC’s merchant bank? Wasn’t that going to be a home run at the time?

Now that Lululemon has done the one-two punch: a merchant banking deal one year and then a stellar IPO the next, it makes you wonder…. What ever happened to the Roots IPO?
