“Westwind added Canadian energy stock Research Analyst Kurt Molnar. Molnar was last a junior oil and gas analyst at TD Securities.

Aaron Bennett has left Westwind as their Biotech Analyst to join Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan as an assistant portfolio manager of global energy. Teachers also hired John Di Re from TD Newcrest to be Bennett’s Associate.

Brad Parkes has taken on the role of Head Equity Trader at CIBC World Markets, filling in for Andrew Foote who recently left the company recently. Brad was previously CIBC’s Head Specialized Trust Trader which is now rolled in under his new title. Foote is joining Raymond James as Senior Managing Director and Co-Head Trader with Bob McDonald.

RBC Capital Markets hired Mike MacBain as its new Co-Head of Global Debt Markets, sharing the role with Richard Pilosof. MacBain was previously the President of TD Securities.

Nitin Babbar has rejoined RBC Capital Markets’ ECM group to focus on equity-linked products and hedge fund coverage. Nitin was previously at TD Securities where he ran the proprietary trading desk.

Andrew Muirhead has left TD Securities where he was most recently covering Financial Sponsors. Andrew was previously a Vice President with CIBC World Markets’ M&A team.

Aaron Vale has joined Macquarie North America as an Analyst in their IB Funds group. Aaron was previously an Analyst at KPMG in their Transaction Services team.

MPartners has hired a new Mining and Special Situation Research Analyst, bringing in Bill McHenry from the U.S. where he was a Portfolio Manager and Analyst.

Cormark Securities’ Aerospace and Health-care Research Analyst and Co-Director of Research Stephen Andersons has left to join Venator Capital Management, a Toronto-based hedge fund.

David Shore has joined Research Capital as Head of the Institutional Technology Equity Research group and will cover software stocks. Previously, Shore was a Software Analyst at Desjardins Securities and at CIBC World Markets.

MGI Securities added Ron Wardlaw to its Institutional Trading desk. Wardlaw had worked as a Trader for Orion Securities. At the same time MGI lost Trader Nick Savona to Evergreen Capital Partners.

And UBS Securities has promoted a few big names. CEO Jim Estey is moving to Chairman with Rick Meslin and Alain Auclair splitting Estey’s previous CEO role. Meslin will also take over as Head of Canadian Equities having been Head of Institutional Sales.
