“Brian Prokop, Canaccord Adam’s salesperson focused on Energy and based in Calgary, has moved to National Bank Financial.

Bruce McDonald is the second in recent weeks to move from Research to Investment Banking at Canaccord Adams. McDonald, who is based in Calgary, was their Energy Trust Analyst and Head of Canadian Equity Research. He has moved to head up the Energy Investment Banking operations. A few weeks ago, Canaccord Adams’ Mining Research Analyst Graeme Currie, moved to the firm’s Investment Bank to focus on junior mining clients. The Head of Research is now Peter Misek, who is also a Global Technology Strategist.

First it was Mark Mulroney, then Jay Ashfield and now Mike Lagopoulos. The head of RBC’s wealth management group is relocating from Toronto to London for the company.

Doug Harris is joining Dennis Logan and former Ontario Deputy Minister of Energy James Gillis in Desjardins Securities’ Renewable Energy and Special Situations team as a Vice President and Director. Doug was previously an Investment Banker at Northern Securities.

Peter Kim left Northern Securities trading desk to join Versant Partners.

Jim Powell, Research Associate at GMP Securities, has joined Northern Securities as their Technology Analyst.

Shaunt Kalloghlian an Investment Banking Analyst at Bank of America Securities in Toronto has left to join Merrill Lynch.

David Bird has become the new President and Chief Executive Officer at MGI Securities. Bird has been a Director of MGI since May 2007 and was previously at Blackmont Capital and before that BMO Nesbitt Burns.
