Canada’s Top 40 “Men” Under 40 part 3
It’s that time of year again – Canada’s Top 40 Men Under 40 will be announced in a matter of days. Anyone want to guess at how many women will make this year’s list (see prior post “Canada’s Top 40 “Men” under 40 part 2” May 11-07)?
10?
8?
6?
4?
3?
Caldwell Partners (CWL.A:TSX) was only able to find five women last year, which does not reflect well on either the search community nor Corporate Canada.
Once you back out the female doctors, academics and bank executives, there appears to be a complete paucity of interest/candidates.
I’m going to take a shot and guess 5 women will make the cut again this year. All will be no doubt deserving of the recognition, but there have to be more candidates out there.
Naturally, you won’t read about this gender imbalance in an upcoming DTM news story: few sectors buy more adspace than the search firms. And this is, after all, the worst financial period in the history of newspapers, according to the proprieters of The New York Times.
