Charity trading day at Fraser Mackenzie

We’d like to pass along the news that institutional investment dealer Fraser Mackenzie is donating all of the trading commissions earned today to a charity in memory of a late colleague. We love that kind of corporate effort (see prior posts “Thank you to our 2007 donors!” December 17-07 and “Donation Day” December 12-06).

Here is a note they put out yesterday, for those on the buyside that might not have seen it:

“The partners and employees of Fraser Mackenzie Limited are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and partner Geoff Plant-Richmond, one of our five founding partners.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Geoff’s wife Maureen and sons Geoffrey and Graham.

In Geoff’s memory, Fraser Mackenzie Limited will donate all trading commissions earned on June 6th, 2008 to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Melanoma Research Fund.

We hope you will help us help Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation continue its world class research into melanoma on Friday June 6, 2008.
