Danny King 2nd in Titleist & FootJoy Canadian Club Pro Championship

Golf season might be over for we hackers, but the pros just seek out the warmth of Florida and carry on. Canadian Danny King had a good first round yesterday in the Titleist & FootJoy Canadian Club Pro Championship. On the Wanamaker course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, he was 4-under on the front nine until he had some mud on his ball and got into a bunch of trouble on #10. After 18 holes, he was second with a 3-under on the day. Wellington Financial is one of Danny’s corporate sponsors. Danny won this tournament in 2005 and 2006.

The CPC purse is $85,000 and the Champion will receive an exemption into the 2009 RBC Canadian Open to be held at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, ON.
