Richard Scott PGA Q School update
The golf Gods are a tough bunch. Our man Richard Scott needed to shoot par on Saturday to proceed to the final round of PGA qualifying school and the playing status that comes with it. Sadly, a bogey on 18 on the final day left him at +1 and 21st, when only the Top 20 made the cut. Every player in the final round of Q School is guaranteed some type of playing status on the Nationwide Tour, and 25 get their PGA Tour cards for 2009.
At Pine Mountain, Richard finished ahead of such former PGA Tour players as Len Mattiace and Ian Leggatt. Here is some media coverage of his fortunes.
With a four day score of 280, Richard can be rightly pleased to have improved over last year’s 285 four day total and 29th place finish.
Wellington Financial is one of Richard’s corporate sponsors.
At 25 years of age, Richard has plenty of time. Mike Weir played on the Canadian Tour (where Richard is currently playing) for seven years before making it to the big time.
