Soggy ballots?
Turn on CNN for 30 seconds and you’ll see live images of voters lining up by the hundreds, just to be able to vote. Thousands of reports of non-operative voting machines, soggy ballots, and waits of over an hour. Even five hours in some cases. In the nation that considers itself the greatest democracy in the world.
Two weeks ago, I had the luxury of walking up to a polling station on election night, presented by drivers’ licence and registration card, and voted. It didn’t take 60 seconds.
Why is this not possible south of the border?
MRM
Because you Canadians are rational. It’s like this riddle:
“Q: How do you get all of the Canadians out of the pool?”
“A: You say ‘Everyone out of pool!'”
All of us south of the border can’t just do what makes sense! What’s the fun in that?
Plus, we still have Thanksgiving to look forward to.
