Larry Acton has returned to UBS Securities as Head Trader. Most recently Larry was at GMP Securities.

Steven Germaise has joined FAIR Canada (Canadian Foundation for the Advancement of Investor Rights) as Associate Director. Steven was most recently Founder and Co-Director of Research at Genuity Capital Markets.

There were three new hires at BMO Capital Markets’ Investment Banking, Food and Consumer Group in Chicago from Banc of America: Greg Pearlman as Managing Director and Head; Managing Director, Michael Taylor; and Director, Alex Jacobs.

Also at BMO Capital Markets, Peter Miller has been appointed Head of Equity Capital Markets. John Manning, Head of Equity Syndication will expand his responsibilities to Equity Capital Market Coordination in support of client relationship initiatives undertaken jointly between Investment & Corporate Banking and the Equity Products Group.

The Energy Group at BMO Capital Markets has also made some changes, combining their Calgary and Houston-based Energy sector teams. Shane Fildes has been appointed Group Head, Energy and Tod Benton has been appointed Head of U.S. Energy.

Lastly at BMO Capital Markets, Jimmy Bonneau, has joined their Investment and Corporate Banking team as an Analyst. Previously, Jimmy was at Lazard Frères & Co.

Deborah Freer has joined RBC Dominion Securities as Chief Operating Officer for its U.S. division. Deborah was most recently at Merrill Lynch.

James Lorimer has joined Blackmont Capital as Managing Director, Investment Banking. Previously Lorimer was Managing Director, Investment Banking for Clarus Securities.

Folio Asset Management has hired Byron Berry as Managing Director, Structured Products. Most recently, Byron was at Dundee Securities as Vice President and Senior Business Trust Analyst.

Thomas Weisel Partners Group has hired Trader Brennan Howard from Raymond James Financial.
