Top Three Twitter Mistakes

After a few months of watching the evolution (or is it regression?) of Twitter, it is definitely here to stay. But there are some clear mistakes being made. Here is a first crack at the top three things NOT to do on Twitter:

3. Complain about how many followers you have, as Lindsay Lohan did yesterday. It just makes booking agents realize that you are one fifth as popular as Jessica Simpson…and therefore deserve a smaller appearance fee for the next bar opening in New York City.

2. Upload a photo of yourself flying to a luxury cottage at 4pm on a Friday, with the tag line “8 minutes till cocktails on the dock”. If you are a fund manager, or a Dragon, for example, consider the juxtaposition of your departure time and the 4pm market close. Then there’s the display of bacchanalia. This is a recession, after all.

1. Re-Tweet a tweet about ways to undermine a child support award, as one otherwise thoughtful NBA Star (CV31) did earlier today. There is just no way to see a laugh in this:
