UBS Asset Management has hired Ron Schwarz as Small-Cap Portfolio Manager, Executive Director. Most recently, Ron was Managing Director and Head of Canadian Equities at CIBC.

Deutsche Bank AG is adding four Directors to their Calgary office. Joining the Natural Gas Trading team from Northern Lights Capital are Raymond Houghton, Mark Kardash and David Lake. Alan Wright will be responsible for Canadian Commodity Sales. He joins from TD Securities.

RBC Capital Markets Salesperson Mark Hoogeveen was appointed Head of Toronto Equity Sales Desk.

AlphaPro Management, an affiliate of JovInvestments has announced the appointment of Ken McCord as President. Ken will also be appointed Vice President of JovInvestments. Most recently, Ken was President and Chief Executive Officer of Webb Asset Management.

Also announced at AlphaPro Management are the appointments of Howard Atkinson as Chief Executive Officer and Adam Felesky as Chairman.

Derek Webb will be appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Webb Canada. Currently he is Director of Webb Canada and President and CEO of Webb USA.

Sun Life Financial has promoted Com Freyne to Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.

Fidelity Investments has officially opened its Montreal office and announced the following movements:

Portfolio Manager, Maxime Lemieux will manage the Fidelity True North Fund

Daniel Dupont will become Lead Equity Portfolio Manager of Fidelity Monthly Income Fund and the Fidelity Monthly High Income Fund. He currently is Co-Portfolio Manager on both Funds

Darren Lekkerkerker will become Lead Equity Portfolio Manager on the equity portion of Fidelity Canadian Balanced Fund. Darren is currently Co-Portfolio Manager on the Fund

Don Newman, currently Co-Portfolio Manager of the Fidelity Dividend Fund will become Lead Equity Portfolio Manager of the Fund

Fidelity Investments has also announced the launch of Fidelity Clearing Canada ULC. The business is part of Fidelity’s US-based clearing organization National Financial. Richard Ness, currently Senior Vice President of National Financial, will serve as Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Patricia Bentolila has joined the International Business Development Group of Export Development Canada as Chief Representative, Africa. Previously, Patricia was Deputy Head, Corporate & Transaction Group at BNP Paribas (Canada).

Gold Star Resources has announced the appointment of John King Burns to its Board of Directors. Most recently, John was a Managing Director and Global Head of Structured Derivative Finance for Barclays Metals Group.
