Name that ferry
I know that more than a few of you are fans of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Porter Airlines. That’s why you’ll be keen to know that there is an online vote going on right now to name the two Toronto Port Authority ferries that ply the waters between the mainland and the BBTCA. Contest closes in early January.
There are 10 names to choose from, and three favourites are:
The Marilyn Bell (Named after the first person to swim across Lake Ontario, in 1954)
The David Hornell (Flt. Lt. David Ernest Hornell was a WWII Victoria Cross Recipient, Royal Canadian Air Force, born on the Toronto islands. He died in battle in June, 1944)
The Frederick Tilston (Major Frederick Albert Tilston was a WWII Victoria Cross Recipient, graduate of De La Salle High School, Essex Scottish Regiment, who died in September, 1992)
