Fixing Toronto – Part Nine
Sometimes, it’s the little things that make or break a political scene. And hyprocrisy is certainly high on the list of political crimes to avoid.
As you consider the rate increases coming next month to your Toronto Hydro bill, under the guise of getting power consumers to shift their usage to non-peak times, consider this photograph of a lighting unit outside Union Station:
Perhaps, on bright and sunny winter days, if our own municipality would just turn off the external security floodlamps on Toronto’s public infrastructure, one wouldn’t feel cynical about the real reason for Toronto Hydro’s rate (read: revenue grab) increase next month.
