Google acquires BumpTop part 2

The blogosphere has its uses, that’s for sure. Even on a Sunday.

It didn’t take too long for our BumpTop / Google acquisition post to get picked-up by Techmeme, TechCrunch, GigaOM, etc. (see prior post “Google acquires BumpTop” May 1-10). Once word got back to Google, they confirmed our acquisition news on the official BumpTop website. Like anyone needed to hear it from the horse’s mouth. It was nice to see the class of everyone out there in high tech blog land give us credit for breaking the news.

As you can see from the URL I started the original post off as “Did Google snatch BumpTop?”, and after a few seconds, changed the title to “Google acquires BumpTop” and pressed update post. Having passed the New York Times’ test for double-sourcing such things, it wasn’t clear to me why I was pretending not to be sure.

Fortunately, Google removed the suspense for everyone else.
