Copy editing is a Labour of Love
According to the online version of my daily DTM, there’s been a technology breakthrough that every new mother and father might have found useful. According to the headline as at 6:19 am:
New technology allows doctors to peak inside baby’s brain
Although we may all aspire to climb to the peak of Mount Everest, I’m pretty sure we mean to peek into a baby’s brain. As a member of the Women & Babies campaign cabinet at Sunnybrook Hospital, the article is definitely exciting. But where are the copy editors? At least for the landing page of the Saturday online edition?
Lost to cost cuts, I’m told. But I commend the piece to you regardless. The writer did a great job on an important topic.
Readers are having some “fun” at the DTM’s expense in the comment section.
If you’d like to help babies such as those mentioned in the article, not to mention their families, Sunnybrook’s Labour of Love Walk for the Women & Babies program is on August 22nd. The program was one of the three target charities at our 3rd annual Wellington Financial Foundation golf tournament on June 7th (see prior post “Wellington’s charity golf tournament to raise $40k” June 7-10).
