Cast your vote for TPA's Sail-In Cinema
It has been many moons since I bothered you with anything to do with the cut-and-thrust down at the Toronto Port Authority. But since so many of you enjoy films, I wanted to apprise our GTA readers of next month’s 2nd annual Sail-In Cinema, presented by the TPA.
This year’s three movie extravaganza will be presented during the evenings of August 16-18, and you can watch the each offering from either a lawn chair at Sugar Beach (Corus Quay Drive) or floating on your boat in Toronto Harbour. Last summer there were two adult-type movies (including Jaws, of course), and one kiddie friendly one.
The 2012 movies have yet to be decided, and voting is now open here. You will have 10 choices in total, including Creature From The Black Lagoon, Jaws, The Poseidon Adventure, Moby Dick, Hook, Surf’s Up, etc.
Sponsors include Porter Airlines, Pier 27 Condominium Residences and North American Logistics. Media partners are The Toronto Star and Q107. Community partners include The Waterfront BIA. Supporters include the Marine Unit of the Toronto Police Service and the Royal Canadian Navy’s HMCS York.
Hope to see you there.
